Timestamping services

Securely timestamp code or documents. Digital timestamps prove the time of signatures and enable long-term validity for code and documents.

Challenge

Secure timestamping requires a trusted and audit-friendly solution

Timestamping plays a crucial role in code signing and other signing services, enhancing trust and validity in your signed code. Moreover, specific industries and regulatory environments require code signing to include timestamping, which may involve various types of audits for compliance purposes.

Solution

SignServer is a proven and versatile signing and timestamping solution

Using SignServer, you can do everything from timestamping to code and document signing in one single installation.

SignServer can be used as the time stamp unit within a Time Stamp Authority (TSA) to generate digitally signed time stamps and includes monitoring of time synchronization, offering both RFC 3161 and MS Authenticode timestamps.

With SignServer, you can start small and grow with your use cases and security needs. If you're prototyping and testing, you can store signing keys in files. However, when you're moving to production, we strongly recommend using a Hardware Security Module (HSM).
